Scared Posts

Can you imagine a world where all the ice skaters did their triple axle in the air, got scared mid way through and then decided to land? I'll tell you one thing, ankles would be rolled, hamstrings would be popped and the need for crutches would be at an all time high. That's how I feel about "scared posts". What are scared posts, you ask? Scared posts are post that allude to something great but the postee is unsure if the odds are actually in their favor. The ones that are the most funny to me are the ones where people are like "me and bae went on a hike" and all you see are four nikes and gravel or "date night" and you see two wine cups, a candle and a shadow of some long eyelash extensions. Scared posts don't limit themselves to just relationships. They also show up in the form of pre mature business moves too. This is when someone post a quote or a picture outside of a major company and then they follow it up with a long caption that ends with "wait on it". My thing is this. Why? first of all, what joy do people get out of posting half truth houses located on jump the gun street? I understand that some people are extremely private but if you really were that private, you wouldn't even waste the time to post at all. We are not trying to see feet this summer. Post and tag that lil ugly human you're cuddling with, let us clap until it meets its demise!!! LOL!! I'm totally kidding but seriously, I wish the world would get to a space where people could be more honest with their situations and themselves. Authenticity is at an all time low and "the cart before the horse tactic" has taken off and spread through society like cancer. Uncertainty feeds insecurity and insecurity feeds the need for approval. Truth is, you don't have to prove yourself to anyone on God's green. You don't even have to prove that you are living an awesome life because if you are alive, you're doing great. You have an opportunity to be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday and if you're dead, you should be in Heaven (hopefully) where the roads are gold and Instagram doesn't even exist. It is a win all around so.. Post the whole truth and be happy. Let's collectively retire the idea that social media has haters waiting to throw a hex on what you post. People don't have that much power. Let's also retire the pre post to the post of the actual success because real talk.. no one is going to wait on it except for me. Im trying to follow up with your meeting at Netflix six months later. I'm nosey!
