Unpopular Opinion

There was an article in the news a few months back about a woman who broke off her engagement because her soon-to-be husband refused to stop watching porn. I sent the article to a friend and surprisingly our reactions were completely different. Here I was, doing a slow clap for this brave woman for realizing that a man who is a slave to his flesh would never be able to lead a household while my friend was calling her lame for not being able to understand that "that's what men do". I realized then and there that I was ALWAYS going to have the unpopular opinion because I look at people through the lens of who God wants them to be as opposed to what the world says is okay. I have strong opinions on lust because I firmly believe that when we die to our flesh, a whole untapped level of peace enters our lives and we can think and ultimately be better. Dying to your flesh isn't just a sexual thing. It's a financial thing. It's a pride and ego thing. It's an envy thing. It's anything that is holding us back from being the beautifully and wonderfully made people that we are called to be! For now i'll discuss why it's important for us to be mindful of our ear and eye gates. You can ask my friends, I don't play when it comes to what I watch, what I talk about and what I listen to. The reason that I'm strict with what I allow my mind to digest is because I never want to be so engulfed in the world that I become lost and I start saying things like "that's just how people are". NO MA'AM, NO SIR!!

Just for giggles lets reflect and imagine that this women did indeed ignore her gut AKA the Holy Spirit and she decided to marry this man. Trust me, she would never be enough. When a man frequently watches porn, his idea of what sex is, is completely skewed. No lie, She would've woke up one day with a plunger lodged up her butt and a tear rolling down her face trying to figure out how she got in that predicament. When you fill your mind up with things that are unnatural...yes I said it, porn is unnatural, you start to think that nothing is off limits. If there is no ceiling to what you would do sexually, there is no ceiling to what you would do for money, fame, or success and you basically become a slave. I hope ya'll are taking notes because this is a WHOLE word! It's all the same with the movies we watch and the music we listen to. I love the Migos just like every other hood booger on the planet but I can't go days at a time listening to flippin' and whippin' in the kitchen. Why? because when I listen to too much ratchet my posture changes and then I have to make a cognitive effort not to cuss instead of it just being natural.

I totally understand that my opinion is unpopular but I am also aware of how cool I am too. As lame as my opinion may be to some, i'm not short on friends and I'm not walking around here with a plunger up my butt. I just have the regular metaphorical stick perfectly in place, keeping me out of trouble.

So here's my question. Ladies? How do you feel about the woman's decision to call off her engagement?
